Braveheart’s Saga—Part II

August 23, 2023

Hundreds of you from across the country and abroad have poured out your hearts in response to Baby Romee’s plight and have asked for updated news on her status. Braveheart’s open heart surgery and reconstruction of her coronary vessels took place on July 26, 4 days after birth. Although the cardiac surgeon predicted that she would be in the hospital several weeks post-surgery, she actually left the hospital and went home TEN days after open heart surgery.

In addition to the expert care she got by all the staff at Stanford Children’s Hospital, along with Romee’s strong spirit, there’s no doubt in my mind that your earnest prayers made a HUGE difference. Even one of the top scientists at Los Alamos Labs, a friend of mine, believes that the power of prayer played a significant role in Romee’s amazing recovery. At the pinnacle of science (quantum physics) and the pinnacle of spirituality, sometimes the same language is spoken.

On August 20th, Romee turned one month old. In the photos, you will see how well she is doing. She breastfeeds voraciously—even to the point of vomiting, is gaining weight, and is even smiling! Her incisional wound has completely healed as you will see in the photo. In one of the photos Romee looks like a little Buddha meditating with crossed legs.

I am profoundly grateful for your continued prayers as Romee faces the inevitable challenges of her life.

Braveheart’s incisional wound from the open heart surgery healed very quickly, far faster than expected.

Miracle Baby Romee, a.k.a. Braveheart, 6 weeks old now as I write. She is 5 weeks post open heart surgery with reconstruction of her heart vessels.

As you can see in the photos below, Braveheart is an unusually happy, healthy baby with a strong spirit. Your earnest prayers have made a significant difference–one could even say a miraculous difference in these circumstances.

“Hi everyone out there!”

Many people ask me when I will see my grand baby in person. The parents have asked me to wait for another month, until after Romee gets her DPT vaccine since I am unvaccinated. It’s understandable that new parents are extremely cautious.

If you have the energy to keep up the prayers for a few more weeks, we would be so grateful. Her two-month “well child check up” in early October is when the prayers will be most appreciated.

With all my heart, I bow to you in deep appreciation.

Gramma Rikki

  19. The little one will need 3 DPT shots at 2, 4 abd 6 months to have basic protection. The real risk is pertussis which is definitely floating in the community all the time and more of a risk in fall and winter. Perhaps the new parents will let you visit if you mask in public for 7-10 days prior to your visit. I know you can’t wait to hold this precious one!

  20. Thank you so much for sharing the beautiful photos of your braveheart grand daughter.
I pray for you and the parents and grand mother too.
    love Holly
